Joining the TV

The iPhone and the Apple TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network (the TV can be wired to the same router). Guest Wi-Fi networks that isolate devices will not work.
Open Party Slideshow on the Apple TV, then tap Scan TV code on the iPhone and scan the QR code. If scanning fails, tap Enter the code instead and type the six digits.
If the TV is not found or the join fails, allow Local Network for Party Slideshow in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
The code changes each time the TV app is opened. Scan again after restarting the TV app.

Videos and keeping the connection

Photos and videos stay on your iPhone and are sent to the TV when needed. Keep the app open, or tap Keep sending when locked (iOS 26) so the phone can keep sending after it locks. Videos stored only in iCloud are downloaded first and can take a while.

Removing photos

Tap a photo in the app and choose Remove from TV. Your original stays in the Photos app.

Storage

On the Apple TV, open Settings in the app and choose Clear cache to remove cached photos and videos.
